This new plant located in Oak Creek has a total of 110,000 sq/ft of refrigerated space, not including dry storage and offices, with temperatures ranging from -10°F to +45°F. The central system supports the refrigerated areas as well as the production freeze dryers used in the manufacturing process. Design challenges were to develop a system for a projected growth over the next 5-7 years. This included larger mains, vessels and future space for additional compression, vessels and condensers. With a short time line for construction and anticipating another lovely Wisconsin winter we developed a 3D plan of the refrigeration system and fabricated approximately 75% of the engine room and condenser piping in the shop. This allowed us to be the only contractor to finish on time as promised.
