Summit Refrigeration Group was invited to submit design build proposals for a green field food plant to be built in Joplin MO and were fortunate to be awarded the project with design starting in December of that year. This was an extreme fast tract project. The first footings for the 140,500 sq/ft facility were dug in early April and the plant was commissioned in late November! That was 8 months for construction in one of the wettest springs on record in Joplin, MO and it did present a significant challenge, but our team went to work along with a field crew of 18 welders/fitters and completed the project ON TIME AND ON BUDGET. The Central ammonia system provided a total capacity of 1,400TR to the -40° and +20° systems.
