This food processing facility and their engineering partner approached Summit Refrigeration Group to design and build the freezer/cooler portion of their new production facility in New Berlin, WI. The project was to include the refrigeration requirements for the freezer/cooler, along with providing the IMP panels and doors for the entire facility. They had purchased an existing building with the intent to remodel it into an ingredient processing facility. Design and construction challenges included installation of IMP panels in an existing building shell to provide maximum usable space inside the freezer/cooler footprint. The existing freezer/cooler space included building columns which had to be shored up and insulated to provide a thermal barrier. Installation of IMP panels on top of a welded SS curb system. Existing roof structures required modifications to accept the weight of refrigeration equipment along with process make-up-air and ventilation equipment.
